Geography careers

A degree in Geography opens the door to many rewarding careers such as remote sensing specialist, market researcher, teacher, national park warden, geographic information systems (GIS) analyst, climate change advisor, and physical geographer.

Geography leads to an amazing range of career opportunities. Businesses need to understand their target audience. For example, how do people spend their free time? What is the average income? What are their shopping habits? This is called geodemographics.

Geographers are also required to manage our natural resources. Because you'll learn about soils, vegetation, climate, you'll understand how to best preserve our natural areas for future use. Share your enthusiasm for the outdoors as an educator in a classroom, in outdoor education centres, or in national and provincial parks. Geographic information systems and remote sensing are growth areas within geography.
