Customize your degree

Looking to add a new focus to your degree and acquire additional skills?

Maybe you want to add a business perspective to your Environment and Resource Studies major or a parks option to your Geography and Environmental Management major, or even specialize in the use of GIS. There are many options and diplomas you can add to your degree as a student in the Faculty of Environment.

There are no admission requirements and you would normally start your specialization in second year.

What is an option or diploma?

  • An option consists of normally 8 courses and become part of your degree. For example, you might study Geography as your major area of study and add an option in Business or Parks.
  • With the diplomas, which take 5 to 6 courses to complete, you would receive the diploma in addition to your degree. For example, you might graduate with your degree in Honours Planning and a Diploma of Excellence in Geographic Information Systems.
