About Environment

On May 1st, 2005, the School of Architecture became part of the Faculty of Engineering. When the School of Architecture was first established at Waterloo in the 1960s, it was located in the Faculty of Engineering. Because architects create our "built" environment, the School moved to the Faculty of Environmental Studies when the Faculty was created in 1969.

In the last few years, it made sense for Architecture to return to its roots in Engineering because of increasing ties with programs such as Civil Engineering and Systems Design Engineering.

The School of Architecture website is at www.architecture.uwaterloo.ca Please update your bookmarks or let the referring website know.

If you are interested in design programs, the Planning program and the Urban Design specialization may be of interest to you.
